Testimonials from my clients

“Sometimes it’s good to just take a step back and assess where you are and whether it is on the path you set out on. But it’s easy to get swamped in the day to day when you work all the time, and even more so when you are working for yourself in both a creative and business capacity.

Esme really helped me to do this – considering what I am achieving, what Iwant to achieve, whether my aims have changed over time, and how torefocus my direction toward those goals. Esme gave me practical solutions, the motivation to implement them. I am left feeling excited and confident about working towards my goals.

I was searching for ways to make social and professional perceptions of my business reflect the ethical and creative standards I have always striven for. I feel Esme’s helped me to see that I can affect change while maintaining integrity and think about ways to affect those changes, in intention and practice.

I would highly recommend Esme as a practitioner; she is thoughtful, insightful and encouraging without judgement.”

“My time with Esme was so beneficial. I was feeling really overwhelmed with how to approach making changes in my business and dreading hearing that I had a lot of work to do.

Esme was so reassuring, she pointed out all the things that I already had in place which made me breathe a sigh of relief and also has given me the confidence to continue making small manageable adjustments to my business that I know will have a long term impact.

Esme put me at ease from the word go and during our session, and I felt totally comfortable and free to ask questions and raise any worries that I had. Highly recommend any business owner looking for clarity and accountability to get in touch with Esme.”

Before working with Esme I had struggled on an emotional, creative and practical level to envisage my future; how it would look, where I would be and how my business was in service to this. Through gentle enquiry and supportive guidance Esme made it feel easy to delve into these subjects without it feeling too directed, it came from myself via her advice and unique support. As a non hierarchal, feminist collective it was really important that Esme understood and had a similar working practices to Black Bark’s principles.

Holly Black – Black Bark Films

Before I coached with Esme, I felt unsure of what Black Bark was, unsure of why we had created a business and how to make it work!

Since we’ve worked together, I’ve been able to think about Black Bark objectively, put some of our values into action and think about the future in a more positive way. The biggest change I’ve noticed is that now I think of Black Bark as an extension of myself (and my business partner) as a positive thing that we have chosen and can be creative and adaptable with.

Coaching with Esme is like looking at your life in a holistic sense, to understand our needs as individuals and as a creative partnership before even looking at the business. Esme is there to help us get to a place we would like to be, as opposed to just a capitalist model of how to make more money.

If you are thinking about coaching with Esme, you need to know that she will dig deep and ask you some big questions about your wants and needs in your life, but will also do so with such a gentle and positive approach that you will always feel safe in being vulnerable with her. Striding forward into the next chapter of my story, I feel confident that Black Bark will be a success.
